Paintball Tournaments

29/06/2017 Main

Hey enthusiastic people, welcome back to my hobbies and leisure blog. A friend of mine in town is holding a tournament at his paintball field, and it got me thinking of it. I thought it would be great to participate but unfortunately I learnt about it too late. That just means that I have more time to prepare for the next one, and maybe even help influence the tournament structure. You see, depending on how many players are on a team the rules will change slightly, even in the same game type. Here are some variations of paintball tournaments used in professional matches around the world. Read more

Comparing Consoles-Gamecube and Xbox

15/06/2017 Main

Hey everyone, welcome back to my hobbies and leisure blog. Today I will be continuing a series that I first posted a couple months ago, comparing consoles. This is where I go out and buy myself a used version of two older era gaming consoles (I will again be buying all of my used consoles and games/accessories from http://www.for-sale.co.uk/ as they have the best choices and prices for used gaming equipment)and then test them against each other. I plan to get some of the same games on both consoles to see the difference in how they play, plus comparing the two consoles bigger exclusive titles. Today we are going to start with my first consoles, the Microsoft Xbox. Read more

Website to keep you awake

06/06/2017 Main

Hello there all you wonderful fans, welcome back to my hobbies and leisure blog. I am pretty sleepy right now, and I won’t lie looking at my screen I see the white border trying to take over my view. That is because I have been keeping myself awake all night by looking up random stuff online. We all spend time doing nothing on the internet these days, and after you delete enough people off your Facebook then you need something else to look at and occupy your always running mind. With that in mind I have put together a list of some of my favourite websites to look and and keep you awake when you are bored.  Read more

Play Paintball Like a Pro

Hey everyone, welcome back to my amazing hobbies and leisure blog. I just came back from one of the best paintball matches of my entire life. I went out at the crack of dawn today with my best gear and played until we could no longer see each other. Paintball is usually a pretty expensive hobby which is why I bought all of my gear used from www.used.forsale which saved me so much money. Of course, this money was spent on paintballs but hey it's a fun hobby so why not? I have been trying to be more professional when I am playing and not look like that guy whose mom dropped him off, and the following gear has helped me out tremendously in not only looking good, but playing good too.  Read more

Summer Festivals

21/04/2017 Main

If there’s one thing that summer means, it’s festival.  Listening to music in the middle of a field in god knows where, come rain or shine or probably rain, drinking beers and cider and eating junk food.  Could anything be better? Well actually it could. Leave good ol’ England and go to one of these amazing festivals slightly further afield. Read more

Tucker Max Book Collection

18/04/2017 Main

Hey everyone, welcome back to my hobbies and leisure blog. I just finished reading what is probably my favourite book series at this point, starting with “I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell’. The book was insanely successful, selling over a million copies worldwide and making it to the top seller list for 5 consecutive years starting in 2006. They even made a feature film about the book in 2009 which absolutely flopped and was considered one of the worst films of the year( and this was a year that had Old Dogs and The Ugly Truth). A second book was then released to counter the negative reception of the film entitled “Assholes Finish First” which never realized the potential set by the first book but was successful in its own right. Comparing Consoles- Xbox 360 vs. PS3

Hey everyone, welcome back to my hobbies and leisure blog. Today I wanted to start a new series which I call Comparing Consoles. This is a series where I go and find two used video game consoles from the same generation and compare their games, specifications and so on. I thought I would start the series off on a familiar note so I went to http://www.used.forsale/canada and found a used Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. I used to play the Xbox 360 quite often as you may remember from my gaming with friends post, so I will be trying my hardest to keep this non biased. Read more

How to make a profit from your hobby

Hey everyone welcome back to my hobbies and leisure blog.  Even though I've been doing hobbies my whole life  I've always switched around from what hobbies I like doing and never really stuck with something that I could keep going with and get really good at. This means that I was never able to actually make a profit on a hobby; something that I know a lot of people do when they get really good at it. Of course I play video games all the time and I like to watch TV and movies but that's not something you can really turn into a profit without being a professional critic or gamer. That is why I decided to look for some hobbies that you can make a profit from and these are some of the best choices that I found: Read more

Make your own candles

23/02/2017 Main

One of my favourite things about winter is the flames from the fireplace dancing across the room. It always feels such a shame when it comes to spring and its time to retire the fireplace, and to move the logs back outside.  I always like to have candles throughout the year so that I get a mini fireplace year round. Unfortunately good candles are very expensive and burn out very quickly, which is why I recommend making your own. Read more

Old School Console

Old School Console

Hi there everybody, and a warm welcoming to my hobbies and leisure blog. I have been searching for a used Sega Genesis 16-bit console and finally found one online after months and months of searching. I already have the Sonic’s Ultimate Game Collection for my Xbox 360, but I really wanted to experience these games in their original environment, how they were meant to be played. I was lucky when looking online and found someone selling the console with a lot of 50 games, so I have been able to compare and contrast the different levels of game development that happened during this era. With not as much money being made and the consoles themselves only just emerging, it was a lot more common to see a game that was terrible than one that was good, much more so than today. That’s why I have compiled the list of some of the best games I have played on my Sega Genesis 16-bit console. The rules are only one game per series, and that's about it. And awaaaaaay we go! Cocktail Making

Cocktail Making

Hi everyone, and welcome back to my blog.   Today I thought we could talk about one of my other (rather than off roading) all time favourite hobbies, drinking (though not to be done at the same time!).  Not just any drinking mind you, and it’s not really the drinking part which I thoroughly enjoy – although obviously the end result of drinking does make this hobby even more appealing.  Cocktail making.  Over the last few years cocktail making has been on the decline with craft beers being the fashionable drink of choice.  Not anymore.  Whilst the popularity of microbreweries and  craft beers are going nowhere, there has been a dramatic increase in the amount of micro distilleries and craft spirits.
